A quietly restored barn in the Herefordshire countryside, created for relaxation, reading and enjoying the rolling landscape.

Set in acres of beautiful Herefordshire Countryside.
The cottage has been thoughtfully renovated.

  • Entryway with a window, white paneled walls, a white door with glass panes, and a staircase with beige carpet. Shoes and boots are placed on a shoe rack near the wall.

    The Invitation

After a day spent walking, eating well, or mooching around old bookshops, Hunton Cottage is a place to come back to. Coats are hung up, muddy boots are left by the door and it is time to put the kettle on. Time to relax and breathe.

Evenings and mornings are yours to shape. Read, listen to music, play a game, or settle in with a favourite film. Linger over coffee, bring pastries back from the village, or take your time with a book in the bath and a glass of wine. However you spend your stay, the days are unhurried and entirely your own.

  • Exterior view of a wooden building with horizontal siding, featuring an open door revealing a white interior, a coat hanging inside, and two potted bushes outside on each side of the entrance.

    The Cottage

Hunton has been carefully restored with comfort and warmth in mind, retaining the character of the original barn while creating a space that feels open and easy to live in.

Arranged in an upside-down layout, the bedrooms sit quietly on the ground floor, cool and restful, while the main living space is upstairs, where light and views can be fully enjoyed. The kitchen and dining area form a natural gathering point, with space to cook, linger and talk without hurry.

Evenings draw in around the table or on the squashy sofas, conversation carrying easily. On warmer days, doors open and meals drift outside, making the most of long Herefordshire evenings.

It is as well suited to gathering as it is to quiet retreat.

  • A lush green garden with small trees and a stone patio table and chairs, set against rolling hills and a clear blue sky.

    The Setting

Set in gently rolling countryside near the Welsh border, the cottage is well placed for walking and exploring. Quiet lanes and open hills lie close by, with routes ranging from gentle rambles to longer days out on the trail.

Hay-on-Wye is a short drive away, known for its bookshops, riverside walks and seasonal festivals. Ludlow, Ledbury and the surrounding Black and White market towns offer food, history and character.

As the light fades and the sky stretches wide overhead, this may be the moment for cocktails and nibbles while taking in uninterrupted Herefordshire views.

Hunton Cottage sits within twenty acres of rolling pasture, with its own small woodland and river frontage for guests to explore at leisure. A picnic basket is available to pack and take down to the river, should you feel like settling in to watch for the flash of a kingfisher darting by.

    Inside Hunton

Hunton is enjoyed by those who value stillness, space and quiet nights, save for the occasional hoot from the local barn owls.

Elegantly comfortable, where nothing matches yet everything works. Relaxed sofas with warm throws and generous cushions. Layered bedding and fluffy towels. Hunton has been designed to feel like home.

Sometimes it is the small touches that make the difference: the extra coffee station by the bedrooms, the welcome hamper filled with local produce and the Noble Isle toiletries in the bathroom. We try to think of the little things that matter.

A cozy bedroom with a white vintage-style bed, floral-patterned bedding, a bedside table, and wall-mounted lamps. A large mirror hangs on the left wall, and a small framed artwork is on the wall behind the bed. A doorway shows a glimpse of an adjoining room with a wooden door and a green chair. The room has wooden flooring and soft, warm lighting from a ceiling lamp with fringe.
